Premium components and complete sheet housings among the products on show for mechanical and systems engineering

Blansko/Czech Republic, 14 November 2016 – Czech company etampa-metra a.s., a joint venture between Swiss-based etampa AG and Metra Blansko a.s. from the Czech Republic, today announced that it will present its products for the first time at Swisstech in Basel. The company will showcase its complex, high-quality components and complete sheet-metal housings. These products are often used in mechanical and systems engineering, especially in agriculture, monitoring and ticketing technology, containers and metering systems, machinery and consumer electronics.

Dr. Vaclav Pavlovec, company CEO: "We are very happy to be able to present our products for the first time at Swisstech in Basel. Aside from the high-precision manufacturing, what makes our machinery housings so special is the fact that everything is produced under one roof. The parts never have to leave our production facility between the manufacturing steps: from the beginning of production to surface treatments such as lasering, welding, grinding or coating, all the way to final assembly. For our customers, this guarantees smooth and consistent production of components and housings. It also eliminates unnecessary costs for transport between the individual manufacturing steps." The company serves customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. Pavlovec: "We are certain that our products will gain a lot of attention at Swisstech, and we are looking forward to making many new contacts."

etampa-metra has evolved continuously since it was founded in spring 2015, and has enjoyed constant investment. Today, in addition to conventional production, the company also offers sorting and processing services for small parts such as vibration finishing and flat honing.

Manufacturer of high quality sheet metal housings and specialist in post-processing and surface treatments to show its product portfolio and introduce its new CEO

Metra Blansko/Czech Republic, 20 October 2015 – Czech company etampa-metra a.s., established in May this year as a joint venture between Swiss-based etampa AG and the Czech-based Metra Blansko a.s., today announced that it will debut as an exhibitor at Blechexpo in Stuttgart in its very first year in business. The parent companies came together when they were each looking for a strategic partner to support their expansion plans. The partnership has enabled both companies to open up new markets. Its booth at Blechexpo is etampa-metra's very first trade fair appearance. The company will be showing samples from its entire range of products and services – from housing designs through to surface treatments and final assembly.

Hans-Rudolf Haefeli, Chairman of the Board of Directors and majority shareholder of etampa-metra said, "The first very intense months of our collaboration have certainly confirmed that our decision was right. We have been able to clearly define our business operations, which now cover the areas of agricultural technology, control and ticketing technology, filling and dosing technology and mechanical engineering. We specialise in fabricating highly complex welded structures for metal housings and sub-assemblies, their surface treatment and final assembly. Our current projects include the development of highly complex control cabinets, the engineering of high performance fuel dispensing systems and a concept for powder coating a line of coffee machines." Exhibiting at Blechexpo was a strategic decision, says Haefeli. "We believe that the changes taking place in traditional markets offer us an excellent opportunity to capture and consolidate a considerable market share over the mediumterm."

Swiss-based etampa AG establishes additional production site in Czech Republic and enters joint venture with Metra Blansko, holding majority interest; newly founded etampa-metra already operational

Blansko, 30 June 2015 – Swiss precision stamping and fineblanking manufacturer etampa AG today announced the opening of an additional production plant in Blansko near Brno. The new company, a joint venture with the Czech manufacturer Metra Blansko a.s., will operate under the name of etampa-metra a.s.; etampa has a 60% majority shareholding in etampa-metra.

Metra Blansko was established in 1911. The portion of the company which is contributed to the joint venture is active in the sheet metalworking industry, producing high-quality metal housings (for ticket vending machines or industrial machinery, for example). The company is also a specialist in post-processing and surface treatments. Its operations thus ideally complement those of the Swiss-based parent company. The newly formed company, which currently employs around 70 people, is already operational.

Perfect timing for the joint venture
Jaromir Varo, CEO of etampa-metra: “This joint venture comes with a perfect timing. We had been looking for a strategic partner for some time, since the steel production part within Metra Blansko had become bigger and bigger over the years. Therefore it made sense to separate this section of the company – which was the bigger section – from the electronic measurement production, which was the origin of the company, but now forms the smaller part of it. Since the sheet metalworking business had grown considerably, we were looking for a strategic partnership with someone with lots experience and success in the same area.” The plan is to grow the company, to expand and to find new areas of business within the same industry, explains Varo.
